Hamptons, Happily Ever After

Where good bones become great design

Some homes don’t need to be reinvented. They just need to be revealed.

On Fewster Road in Hampton, Jen already had something worth protecting: a bright, welcoming space with beautiful natural light and a fireplace that gave the living zone instant warmth. The bones were good. The feeling was already there. She bought the home because she could see its potential, and the brief was clear from the outset: bring a true Hamptons style kitchen into a home that could genuinely carry it.

And when Hamptons meets Hampton, it should feel effortless. Not forced. Not fussy. Just as though it’s always belonged.

This project became exactly that: a calm, cohesive evolution led by Jen’s vision, shaped by thoughtful guidance, and brought to life through craftsmanship and our trusted network of trades. The space doesn’t just look different. It feels different. Lighter. Cleaner. More resolved. More her.

A vision with a clear north star

Jen arrived with her direction already mapped out: Hamptons Coastal. Not in the sense of novelty beach-house styling, but in the way the best Hamptons spaces always land: bright, layered, classic, and quietly luxurious. The kind of kitchen that invites you to exhale as soon as you walk in.

That clarity meant we could focus on what we do best: finessing, refining, narrowing the options, and making sure each selection worked in harmony, not in isolation. And because Jen is wonderfully visual, the showroom played a starring role. Seeing door profiles in real life, understanding how different whites behave under light, comparing handle finishes properly, and walking through configurations made decision-making feel grounded and confident.

The result is a kitchen that feels timeless but not predictable. Familiar, but elevated.

Shaker, but with a little extra magic

Hamptons kitchens live and die by their detailing. The profile has to be right. The proportions matter. And in an open-plan space, the joinery needs to feel integrated with the home rather than sitting apart like a new kitchen insert.

For Jen, the winning combination was Polytec Casino 2 pack Satin in Classic White paired with Polytec Calcutta 100 2 pack Satin in Classic White. The shaker profile brings that classic Hamptons character, while the introduction of the V-groove detail adds rhythm and breaks up the cabinetry in a way that feels intentional and architectural.

To round out the cabinetry family, 2 pack flat profile in Polytec Classic White was introduced where it best supported the design, keeping the overall look calm and cohesive.

A white kitchen can be deceptively complex. There are hundreds of profile options, countless “whites”, and endless opportunities to second-guess yourself. This is where great guidance changes everything. Not by adding noise, but by simplifying the pathway to the right choice.

The benchtop that held the vision steady

A kitchen like this needs a surface that can do two jobs at once: look quietly beautiful and handle real life without complaint.

Jen had already selected Caesarstone Organic White benchtops, and it was a strong anchor for the whole palette. Soft, classic, and perfectly at home in a Hamptons-inspired space, it supports the clean, bright cabinetry and allows texture to do the talking elsewhere. But just as important as the material itself was how the surface could be used day to day.

In the original kitchen layout, the tap sat on the island. Moving it changed everything.

The shift created a benchtop that feels cleaner and more welcoming, and it gave the island a new job - not a functional obstacle, but a central gathering point. It’s now a space that supports everyday flow and feels calm when you walk in the door. Sometimes, it’s not about adding more. It’s about removing the one thing that interrupts the experience of the room. And once the island became that open invitation, the styling could sing.

Before & After

A splashback with two personalities

It’s one of those details that makes the whole space feel more considered, adding texture and movement without overwhelming the design.

Jen selected La Riviera Gris Nuage Gloss Wall Tile (Elegance By Moorabbin Tiles) for the splashback, installed in a herringbone pattern through the kitchen. The tile’s hand-made appearance and irregular edge give the space character and a sense of movement, while the gloss finish bounces light beautifully throughout the day.

In the laundry, the same tile was used again, but laid vertically for a different look with the same DNA. It’s a clever, cohesive decision: consistent material, fresh expression.

Handles that feel like the finishing touch

Hardware can make a white kitchen feel either basic or beautifully complete. Here, it’s the latter.

Jen chose Lincoln Sentry Modar Barra handles in Brushed Nickel, a finish that adds warmth without turning golden, and polish without becoming too shiny. Better still, the decision was made easy because the exact handle could be seen in a real showroom setting, in context, in the kind of lighting you live with day to day. It’s the perfect example of the small things that aren’t so small at all.

*Hot Tip*

If your palette is light or tonal, texture becomes your best design tool. Mix profiles, introduce a tactile splashback, and pair smooth surfaces with something more organic like timber or rattan. These subtle contrasts bring warmth and interest without overwhelming the space.

Styling that feels like a holiday, at home

Jen’s styling choices deserve their own applause. The rattan lights, the meaningful details, the relaxed Hamptons mood… it all lands with confidence, with Interior Design by Kirstin Sweet (Styled Haus) working alongside Jen to help guide and shape the vision. There’s a reason this kitchen feels like it belongs in Hampton - while also quietly nodding to Noosa and a late afternoon G&T. Delish.

The finishing touches include Adairs Cebu Rattan Counter Stools and Ivory & Deene Amalfi Rattan Lace Pendant Light-Natural, both of which bring texture, warmth, and that unmistakable breezy ease that makes the space feel lived-in and loved.

Underfoot, Heartridge Riviera Kentia Oak engineered timber flooring from Fowles ties it all together with natural warmth. It grounds the crisp whites and gives the home that layered, settled feeling that the best renovations always achieve.

Systems that make cooking feel effortless

Even for someone who isn’t building their life around cooking, a kitchen should make everyday tasks easier. This project balances beauty with practical functionality, so everything works smoothly behind the scenes.

Storage and internal organisation were supported by Blum TANDEMBOX antaro drawers and ORGA-LINE container sets, keeping the experience of the kitchen clean and clutter-free.

A standout inclusion is the Blum SPACE TWIN System, a narrow cabinet solution designed for condiments and cooking essentials positioned on the right-hand side of the oven under the stove. It’s one of those clever systems that instantly makes the kitchen feel more intuitive because it puts the small, frequently used items exactly where you reach for them.

Lighting plays its role too, with Hafele warm strip lights adding glow across the different zones and enhancing the splashback texture once the sun dips.

Where to spend and where to save

One of the most refreshing parts of Jen’s approach was how intentional she was about where to spend and where to save. She wasn’t trying to do everything at once, all at top tier, for the sake of it. She was strategic.

Because cooking isn’t the central hobby in this household, Jen chose to be budget-conscious with appliances and some fixtures, sourcing smartly through Facebook Marketplace, Harvey Norman Factory Outlet, and Fowles Auctions. That allowed her to invest where it mattered most to her: the cabinetry quality, the design cohesion, and the overall feel of the home.

The appliance and fixture selections include an AEG oven and induction cooktop, a Sirius undermount rangehood, an ASKO dishwasher, and a Franke tap from Harvey Norman. For the sink suite, Jen selected a Buildmat Madison double bowl sink and a Penny single bowl sink.

The end result proves something we love - when you invest in quality custom cabinetry and thoughtful design, you can still be savvy elsewhere and end up with a home that feels premium through and through.

*Hot Tip*

If you’re balancing budget, pick your non-negotiables first. For many homeowners, that’s cabinetry layout, storage, and finishes you touch daily. Then save on the pieces that are easiest to upgrade later. It’s a smart way to protect long-term value without sacrificing the dream.

Beyond the kitchen…

While the kitchen is the star of the show, the story doesn’t end there. Jen’s wider renovation journey extended thoughtfully into the laundry and wardrobes, ensuring the same level of care, consistency, and functionality carried throughout the home. The laundry has been completely reworked into a space that feels just as considered as the kitchen, while the wardrobes have been tailored to suit everyday living with practical, well-planned storage.

Beyond the cabinetry, the transformation reached into every corner of the house. A vanity was refreshed, new carpets were introduced, and Heartridge Riviera Kentia Oak engineered timber flooring from Fowles now flows seamlessly through the main living areas, grounding the home with warmth. Fresh paint throughout has lifted and unified the interiors, while new furniture selections have layered in comfort, texture, and personality, allowing the home to feel cohesive rather than pieced together.

It’s this kind of holistic approach that elevates a renovation from a single-room upgrade to a complete lifestyle shift. Every space has been considered, every finish connected, and the result is a home that feels calm, resolved, and ready for its next chapter.

And that’s the point. This isn’t just a kitchen upgrade. It’s a future-focused decision that supports lifestyle now and protects value later. It’s a home that feels so enjoyable to live in today, and so appealing if it ever hits the market tomorrow.

I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. I had a clear vision going in, and the team helped bring it to life in a way that feels exactly right for me. The showroom made such a difference too!! Being able to see everything in person gave me real confidence in my choices. Darko was incredible throughout the whole process. Having someone I could call anytime, even months later, is a game changer. The trades were all amazing, so professional and easy to deal with. I’ve done a full renovation, not just the kitchen, and it’s been worth it one hundred percent. I sit in my home now and think, “I love this, I want to be here.” I recommend Wood Wizards to everyone.

TOP TIP

Consistency is key to a cohesive home. Carrying the same materials, tiles, or finishes into adjacent spaces, like a laundry or wardrobe, creates flow without feeling repetitive. It helps each room feel connected rather than separate, giving the entire home a more considered, polished result. Even small touches, like repeating a tile in a different layout or using the same cabinetry colour throughout, can make a big impact.
