Confident Living | Calm, Cohesive and Clever

Originally planned as a renovation for themselves, Roxanne and Jim’s project at Rothesay Avenue quickly evolved into something else entirely - a home refresh designed with future sale in mind. That meant no overcapitalising, no budget blowouts, and absolutely no compromising on comfort, cohesion or quality.

Roxanne stepped into the Wood Wizards showroom, curious to explore some cabinetry options. She left with something far more valuable, a sense of trust. After chatting with Head Designer Jordan, she felt heard, supported and genuinely excited about what was possible. That confidence only grew as the project took shape and she connected with the wider team, each bringing their own expertise to the process.

With Polytec Surano Profile in Boston Oak Woodmatt anchoring the cabinetry design, and a complementary contrast of Polytec 2 Pack Satin Hampton profile in Blossom White for the doors, the kitchen embraced a soft, neutral and elegant palette - subtle yet striking, with broad appeal and (importantly) lasting charm.

Layout, function and practicality were paramount. Jordan worked closely with Roxanne and Jim to ensure no detail was overlooked - balancing material choices, selections and budget to make sure the kitchen delivered both style and return on investment. Interior Designer Kirstin took everything to the next level, guiding colour and material selections in relation to the home’s existing palette, so that every choice felt intentional.

Feature details such as Kethy PM123 knobs and Touch Rhone D handles in Matt Black added a sleek finishing touch, while square set finger pulls on overheads kept things clean and contemporary.

Roxanne’s eyes light up when she talks about the internals, and we get it. The Hafele Hailo Euro Cargo ST60 four-section bin system makes daily recycling simple and seamless, while the Hafele Kesseböhmer Carousel 270 brings new life to a previously neglected corner cupboard. Blum ORGA-LINE container sets glide out of cabinetry, while Blum TANDEMBOX antaro drawers create a functional, calming rhythm that permeates the entire space. The kitchen is not just beautiful, it works beautifully.

Benchtops and splashbacks feature The Porcelain Factory Enviro 12 Grigio Lassa Silk, a sintered porcelain surface chosen for its elegant texture, tonal warmth and exceptional durability. Finished off with a Smeg oven, gas cooktop and undermount rangehood, plus a Fisher & Paykel dishwasher, the appliances delivered just the right balance of form and function for a home that’s ready for sale - but built like they’d stay.

Thanks to clever layout changes, the original laundry was transformed into custom banquette seating using Boston Oak Woodmatt, adding both dining space and a seamless extension to the kitchen cabinetry. This reconfiguration opened up the home’s flow dramatically, making the most of every available square metre.

The three walk-in wardrobes were designed to echo the kitchen’s warmth and detail, featuring Polytec Flat Profile in Boston Oak Woodmatt with black Hafele rails and Touch Rhone D handles in Matt Black. A subtle black edging on the overheads added a premium touch, elevating the entire look and bringing quiet cohesion from the kitchen to each bedroom.

From day one, confidence was key - and Wood Wizards delivered that in spades. For Roxanne and Jim, the project felt collaborative from start to finish. With a trusted network of trades and a design team who truly listened, they’re already planning the next project with us.

And honestly, we can’t wait.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the first chat with Jordan, we felt completely heard and understood. He just got us. That gave us so much confidence straight away. The whole process was easy, joyful and fun. Life’s too short to be stressed out, and with Wood Wizards, we never were. We’re so happy with the result and already planning the next project with them. We’ve been singing their praises to anyone who’ll listen and we’ll keep doing so.
